First Look at Broadway-Bound Green Day Musical American Idiot

Berkeley Rep just released images from its hot new Green Day musical American Idiot, playing through November 1 at the California theater. This is a wildly premature statement, but these five shots, the show's looking pretty awesome. Here's hoping it rocks out on Broadway by season's end! Michael Mayer, who won a Tony Award for directing Spring Awakening on Broadway, directs a cast that also includes John Gallagher Jr., Matt Caplan, Michael Esper, Mary Faber, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Christina Sajous and Tony Vincent in featured roles.


Tony winner John Gallagher Jr. from Spring Awakening hits a rock star pose. Several of his Spring Awakening castmates are also featured in the new show.
